New Grad SANE?

Hi all,

I'm graduating with my BSN soon, and very interested in becoming a SANE. Do I need experience before taking the course? I figure that the time between graduation and finding a job would be a good time to take the class. I've been trying to research it online, but there's no good, current information. I live in NJ if it matters.

    This webpage from the International Association of Forensic Nurses says, "To become a SANE, you must first be a registered nurse (or advanced practice), preferably with two years or more experience in areas of practice that require advanced physical assessment skills, such as emergency, critical care and maternal child health." They are not saying that it is impossible for a new graduate, but they clearly prefer at least two years of experience in relevant areas.
