New Grad Needs Help!!!

U.S.A. Virginia

Hello Fellow Nurses!

I am currently a BSN graduate of The College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, MN. I will be taking my boards at the beginning of September. I will be moving to Virginia Beach in a couple months. I am wondering if anyone has any tips for a new grad during my application process with any of the hospitals around Virginia Beach. I am eager to start my nursing career and need help. It is always hard for new graduates to find jobs because of the experience needed. I have applied to many jobs throughout the U.S. and have not had any luck. I feel as though my resume and cover letter are good. But I am wondering if there is something more I could do to get the attention of the nursing recruiters at the Virginia hospitals. I am excited start my first nursing job but I feel as though I am sitting on my hands. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sentara usually hires their own new grads because they have their own school. Chesapeake Regional only hires new grads once a year and that has already passed this year. Bon Secours hires new grads all year long but you may have to drive to DePaul, Maryview, or Mary Immaculate. Good Luck

Thank you for your post! I have applied to DePaul, Maryview, and Mary Immaculate but you can only put x amount of applications in. Are you currently working at any of these hospitals? I feel as though it helps to know people who work at the hospital that you are applying to. So for me moving to another state and not knowing anyone is hard. Do you have any advice? Thank you for your time!
