new grad interview

Published

I will be graduating soon, and I was wanting some information on what to expect on my interview. I am really nervous about this process as I have heard you interview before a board of people. Any info anyone could give would be greatly appreciated!

All you have to do is search at top right. "interview" "hospital interview" "interview questions", etc. There are many, many threads already.

Be prepared for the standard interview questions: There are lots of sources on the web to assist with these. You can also help with the nerves by preparing yourself. Also, realize it is a learning process. The more interviews you have the better you will get into a groove. Realize there are other opportunities out there, if you don't get the job. Do not put your dreams and aspirations into one basket. Believe me, some interviews will be just horrible. And, it has nothing to do with you.

I am a manager of a Cardiac Unit and hire regularly. Our hospital has a 'Select Interview Guide' that means everybody gets the same questions. We interview with 2 managers and our educator. The questions are tied to our Core Values and mostly situational i.e. Compassion is one of our core values and a question is: Can you tell me about a time you showed exceptional compassion.

So be sure to know the Mission and Core Values of the Hospital you apply at.
