You can apply but most places are not going to have much interest until you are on the registry. How much CNA experience is required to apply? Is there a set number of hours? What kind of experience required/desired?
If you decide on PRN, it can be difficult with being new, creating a routine getting to know people, and you probably will be required to work holidays. If you can handle it go for it.
Your other choices are 2, 16-hour days, (which is tiring) or maybe home health if it meets your programs requirements.

I just passed the state CNA exam! I am so excited and ready to get to work in the field. Since I don't officially have my license (only my passing written/skills letters) am I able to start applying for positions?
I don't even know where to start... I can only work 1-2 days a week at most right now due to still being in school full time and family commitments. Is per diem even a good idea for a newbie? I have to have some CNA experience to apply to the RN program, but really working full time is just not going to work right now. I am in Orange County but can go as far as approx 50 miles out if needed for the right placement. Any advice?
