NET scores

Hello All

I am currently prenursing student who just took the NET and scored in the 65th percentile. My overall score was a 70. My school requires that prenursing students score in the 50th percentile or higher to be admitted into the program and I have exceeded that. My question is should I retake the test to see if I can get a higher score? I mean do students who retake that test usually score higher the second time around. As it stands I can apply for the spring 2011 nursing program admission because I am just about finished my prereqs. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Not to brag or anything but i scored in the 98% percentile and was told that on that statistic alone my chances of getting in were considerably higher. Our school allows you to take the test twice and you have to get above a 57 or something on it ( I think that is WAY too low). Of all the people I know that took it twice, every person got a better grade the second time around.

I took it and scored in the 97th percentile as a pre-med student looking to switch to nursing. The director of the nursing dept at the university where I was attending looked at the courses I had taken (pre-med courses) and my NET score and assured me I was a "shoe in"...I didn't get in. I took the NLN and got a 94% for entrance in the local junior college and got in. (Maybe you can make sense of that). My point is that it's relatively competitive out there and if you have the opportunity to re-take the exam, you should do whatever you need to do to have an edge over others. Hope this helps... somewhat.

Thanks for the information. I have decided to retake the test to see if I can get a higher score.

Good luck! I don't see how it could hurt, you always have the option of which scores are sent to the school of your choice.
