I just took the paper, pencil test this morning and I am not very confident about it at all. There are a total of 8 sections, the math, reading rate, reading comprehension, written expression, Science, Learning styles, testtaking and some other one that isn't graded. I feel like I did very well on the math but the reading comprehension is a bit of a worry. I am not one of the people that just go in and try to "wing it", I studied all week and made sure I knew everything I could before going in. I know there is a thread on here that talks about how to study and again, I did all of that as well. The math portion was about the same as in the study guide offered by ERI and the test preview website. The reading comprehension is a completely different story. First the book says you have about 1 minute per question and that was correct. I was given 30 minutes for 33 questions. The study guide gives you 20 and you just try and do it in under 20 minutes. The content on the study guide is very basic compared to the actual test. The study guide also only asked for main idea, conclusion, inference, purpose, and theme. The actual test had more question other than the study guide. The paragraphs were much longer which really screws up the amount of time that you have been practicing. The paragraphs, again, are a little more in depth reading than grasses and owls. I wasn't able to finish all the questions in the 30 minutes and relied on my guessing ability, which is not that great.
I hope i am worrying for nothing. I feel like I did horrible the comprehension but will just have to sit and wait. The school here in Georgia that i am applying to, only allows you to take the test twice and if not successful, one would have to wait two years before applying again. That seems ridiculous.
I just wanted to share my experience while it was fresh in my head, and if anyone has any questions I will be more than glad to answer them
