Well, I'm very nervous. I've finished nursing school...I passed the nclex first try at 75, yet tomorrow is my first day on the floor. Although I had the management portion of my last semester (a month and a half ago), I feel like a nursing student hitting the floor for the first time. So I'm a bit anxious. I find myself wondering "will I notice the labs? Will I notice the small details like new orders, physician calls etc....." I'm just anxious....I'll be much better after tomorrow.

How was your day? I hope it went well. :)
My day was okay. I think my nurse eventually figured out that even on day one....I was not "just a shadow". So I took one patient (and assessed and charted two) but only pulled meds on one. It was actually really nice to get in the swing of things again. And I feel that I do a better job (maybe I shouldn't admit this) BECAUSE it is my license. Either way, I do it all over again tomorrow and am much more prepared and know what to expect. It was a really helpful orientation floor. I'm sure after 6 weeks they will be sick of me, none the less.
