Had my first interview today for a inpatient hospital position. I feel like it went well. They told me my hourly rate would be roughly 10K more than I'm making currently as an RN. This is okay but I know my responsibility will skyrocket in this position and I want to be paid accordingly.
The pay is based on a scale of nursing and NP experience. I'm unsure I should try to negotiate if I'm offered the position? Did you negotiate? Did you get what you asked for?

Always negotiate! I recently negotiated a union position that they initially stated could not be negotiated. I didn't get a lot more, but I did get more than what was initially offered.
