needlestuck!

I had my first bad experience with a hypodermic needle a couple of days ago. I went to draw up some dilaudid for an SQ injection, and I stuck myself!!! I don't know if it was poor eyesight or a bad angle into the medication bottle, but the needle glanced off and hit my finger. Thankfully it was a brand new new needle fresh out of the package, and not used. The stick did not draw blood, but it hurt! Wow did I feel like a dufus though! Be careful out there!

It can be scary.

I went through it. I was in my 1st semester and then I drew the insulin and tried to take the cap off and stuck myself, but I didnt think it went through my glove .I gave the shot and afterwards notice blood on my glove.I reported to an instructor and had to talk to the president of the program.i wasn't kicked out just talked to and got through the program. After my second shot and third I got over it.Especially the 2nd shot. You will be fine. The doctor told me it happens often.
