need to vent...and advice

Hi guys, just realized I put wayyyy to much detail in this post and that it might not be a good idea for this to be on the net. I was really upset after hearing about this situation and really needed to talk to someone who would understand but that was way TMI. Thanks for the advice bittybaby, this is what I will push for. I, too, feel like this is the best way to go. I am a CLNC and your post sounds like something I would say, are you a lnc too? Anyway, thanks again everyone!

I think, first, you guys need to sit down with your legal people. If you don't have a policy/procedure for transporting infants, that nurse could be held liable for anything that could have happened to that baby. Think...what would the reasonably prudent nurse do? I would not have gotten into that ambulance without a monitor, etc.

I work at a level 1 trauma hospital and it is different for us. But it sounds like this case needs reviewed and some guidelines in place.
