need support for nclex rn

Published

well i failed my first attempt at 265 q's. got all categories at near passing standard.

my mom is a RN and passed her first attempt a long time ago.

so when she saw my result..she was saying like "you should have gotten an above the passing standard at least for psyche category because its easy."

I was thinking like "so she must be thinking that im hella dumb..coz psyche question is easy but mine turned out to be near passing standard."

I dont understand why she cant be supportive. I know psychology is the easiest category in nursing but hey, the real nclex rn questions are unpredictable! why cant she understand that?

And she will always go like "use your common sense." Yeah i know, i did all my best in answering every questions. duh??

you know, im losing all my courage because even my own family is not supportive of me. :crying2:

so all you people, can i at least have your support. i think all of you here can inspire me more coz you dont look down on one's capability. you people are better supporter than my own family...awwwww..thanks:banghead::imbar:confused:

Sorry to hear your family is not as supportive as you'd like. My clinical nurse specialist failed her boards twice before passing. She was an amazing and very smart bedside nurse while she was continuing her education too. I also know of several other wonderful nurses who failed their boards at least once. You can do this and you will pass. The test is very unpredicatable with it's questions. Take a break and consider doing Suzanne's Plan. Hang in there and good luck.:loveya:

NCLEX changes over the years and I bet if many took it now they would struggle. Look at Suzanne's plan and hang in there. Good luck to next time

Hang in there!

Youre right that everyone here supports each other because we ourselves have felt what you've gone through (or at least i did).

Sometimes in the exam you blackout. Please try to relax to relieve anxiety when taking the exam.

Don't loose hope.

Hi don't feel so bad, many of us have fail and the important thing is that it is not the end, pick up yourself and try again, next time you know kind of what to expect. Take a look at Suzanne's plan it may do good to your prep for next time. Take care and don't lose faith in you.

You definitly have my support. Its easy for many on the outside to make comments and pass judgement but we know how hard we have worked to get to this point in our lives. Taking the test online is much more difficult than doing the paper test that nurses had years ago. Just continue to keep your head up and know that we are all here if you need to vent some more.

I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe your mom said that because she wants to challenge you more...some parents think that it is a good idea so that you'll strive harder... "you know when someone's putting you down...you'll work harder in order to prove that what she said about you is totally wrong". I know how you feel...my mom put me down too when I failed the first time. I don't know my results yet, but i am also hoping for a positive one. Just stay positive and focus...you'll get what you've been dreaming of in time. =D
