Need Study Tips for NC classes through excelsior

I am doing the suggested readings for my first NC class / test and its taking forever. I am reading posts where its only taking 3-4 weeks. Did you guys really read all of that stuff? I am boring myself to sleep...literally! There has to be a better way. I am thinking of using the studyguide and studying from that with the books, hitting what I don't understand. Has anyone else done this?

I am looking at the med-surge book and thinking there is no way I am reading ALL OF THAT THING! Please help, I want to be done by December and on the wait list for the CPNE!!!

In the beginning I pretty much skimmed over the information, read all the files on yahoo, studygroup101 and some of Lisa Arends notes. I bought College network modules for Test 4-7. I am studying for Health difference 2 which is very hard and I am literally reading the information out of the book little by little daily to get the best understanding. I type out my own notes for each disease in Nursing process formation and take it in from of my computer on the wall. I read this several times a day because I am on the computer all the time. After about 2 days I take it down and add another section. I learn by reading a lot of this stuff out of the book. It sinks in my head better. I look at the charts in the reading because alot of questions from the test come from there. Hang in there you will find your way through.
