Need Some Advice Please

Hello,

I have a dilemma, I'm currently working in a convalescent home as CNA, I been having some bad experiences here since I start working here and start looking for another job, so I got a job offer at Sunrise Senior living. I didn't knew until after I accept the job when I asked if I was hired as CNA the lady told me No that I was hired as a Care giver, and my CNA license won't be working. I don't know what to do now? at Sunrise its less stress and pressure with the residents, but I do want to work my license, because I wan to get enough experience so in the future I can apply at a Hospital.

Please give me some advise, What would you do in my place..

Thank you!

Well, what's the difference in duties? I work as a caregiver now because there's things I'm not allowed to do as a CNA that I need to do at this job. Like passing meds. It may turn out that you get more experience as a caregiver than as a licensed individual. The only thing you have to worry about is renewal. These hours you work may not count towards renewing your license if you have to meet a certain number of hours every few years to keep your license current.

Since you'll like the caregiver job and not want to give up your CNA certification why not find out how many hours you need a year to recertify then get a per diem job (second job)at a long term care facility. In my state its only 16 hours within a 2 year period. Good Luck.
