Need Refresher and Study Tips

Published

I graduated from Rn school about 1 year ago, and have never taken the Fl Nclex. I must take a refresher course, to do so. What is the best refresher course for me? Im not very good at tests, so I was to scared, and totally not ready.

There's Hurst has nice break down of lectures with questions also u world is great questions with more contents rationals. Good luck!

Hi I just did the remedial course in Florida and it was self study and you're required to do clinical ... what city are you in? On FLBON website they have the list of approved remedial courses ...

I used 4 courses:

1. NCLEX Nursing Tools app- good breakdown for meds, labs, and diagnostics that all nurses should know.

2. Kaplan (good for help on how to answer test questions)

3. Hurst (they do a pretty good content review on the essentials to know on all areas of nursing school)

4. NCSBN (Personally, i found that one overwhelming, it reviewed everything in nursing school to the smallest detail, the test questions were tough but helpful if you catch on to how they word their questions and how they expect you to answer)

5. HESI (Good questions to review).

There's a lot of resources out there, and they all have their own qualities. It mostly depends on what you feel you need the most help on, either content review, or test taking strategies, or etc. I suggest you stick to one or maybe even two, because you can overwhelm yourself with information and end up studying for much longer than you needed to. You will never feel fully prepared to take the NCLEX. Go in there with the mindset and goal to answer 265.
