Hi everyone! I am just looking to get some feedback on where I should be applying as a new graduate RN. I am currently in Charlotte, nc but I have been working for the system for a year and half and graduated in August with no luck in finding a position. I have read some articles about nursing shortages and I'm completely open to moving I am just buried in loans and ready to work! Are there any major cities I should be searching in right now? Thank you so much!!

Many major cities are seeing a glut of nursing grads. The areas that are truly seeing a shortage seem to be much more rural areas. However, are you only looking at acute care positions? There are many other areas that you can look for jobs: LTC, rehab facilities, other outpatient/nonacute facilities.
Are you also a member of professional organizations? Attending these meetings can provide opportunities for networking.
Good luck with your job search.
Thank you! I am open I just feel like inpatient is where I will truly acquire my skills early on... I think I'm just a little frustrated with the process!

More acute patients are sent to rehab, subacute rehab and even LTC. Don't assume all skills are relegated to acute care hospitals. I manage trachs& ventilators in homes!
