hi everybody, I need some help. I passed the CGFNS exam long time ago, in 1990, have a RN lincense in Texas since 1993, but haven´t never worked in US. Now I had and offer to work in Reno NV. Have send all the documents to get a visa screen and seems everything is OK.
I´m waiting for and answer from the Nevada board, they have all the papers, fingerprints ,etc.
Does anybody know what the company has to do to sponsor me?, is the first time for them.
Do I have to go directly to the american Embassy here in Spain.
Thanks.

Welcome
If you do not have a visa already (indicates you haven't cos you are asking for a sponsor) then you are looking at retrogression and many years waiting for a visa. If you have a job offer then they should be your sponsor and should file the paperwork.
I would suggest a good read in this forum as you have retrogression ahead of you and much has already been written about it
Thanks silverdragon, I've been reading but I think I'm very confused.
If I 've understood correctly even with a firm job offer from a company in NV, this is the first time this company is sponsoring, with a current RN license and the visa screen passed, it is not possible to get a visa, any kind of visa?.

You could try for a H1B if you meet the criteria but a GC will take many years waiting. There are downsides to a H1b and if you loose job then you have to leave the US. Only the employer can apply and must pay all costs.
What I really want is to spend some time in the U.S. two, three or four years. Here in Spain I work for the NHS and I can ask for a leave, so if I came back there will be a job wainting for me.
So a temporary visa will be OK
The offer I have is for working as flight nurse in a EMS system, do you really think i can qualify for and HB1
If you can get a H1b then you can work for 3 years in the US but will depend whether the hospital wants to go that route. They have to prove that they can not employ a local nurse and have to pay all fees
For the company,in this case is not a hospital is OK.
Do you know how much are all the fees?

The company still has to meet requirements for H1b and prove that they can not employ USC or legal resident. I haven't got a clue about costs
