need help about UTSA?

Published

Hi everyone

My name is Pla, I will be moving to San Antonio soon and also want to go to nursing school there. If I understand correctly, UTSA doesn't not have nursing program but UTHSCSA. But to apply for nursing program at UTHSCSA I need to take prerequisit courses from somewhere else such as UTSA. Is that correct? now how do I apply for UTSA for prerequisite courses, what major or what program name is it called?

Thank you so much

Pla

I suggest you take your prerequisite courses at either St Philips College or San Antonio College. They are both a part of the Alamo Community College District. They are far less expensive and tranfer, but double check just to make sure. There web site is www.accd.edu. Hope this helps

Thank you so much Cjane

I took my prereqs at UTSA. I think I was technically called a BIO major but I just took the courses I needed that UTHSCSA required. Their website is utsa.edu and I believe you can apply online....or you may just need to fill out the Texas Common Application which you can find online as well. Their website should be able to tell you though. The deadline to apply for this fall is July 1. Best of luck.

I did a combo of both...I was technically a BIO major at UTSA but only took those classes required as pre-req's, but also took the summer classes at SAC because it allowed me to finish up sooner...Looking back at it, I just as easily could have done them all at SAC, but enjoyed the "typical" college experience that UTSA offered

Thank you so much 1NAmyllion I don't think I will make it at this fall, cuz I'm transfering from Thailand. That's why I can't apply common application like other people :o

I was actually finished with all of them 1/2 a year early and had hoped to apply for the January Start, but...decided to wait with a friend and apply for the fall semester. But I actually think that UTHSCSA has quit doing a spring and fall semester start...so unless you're going to do all your prereq's in a year (WHEW--THAT MAKES MY HEAD SPIN JUST THINKING ABOUT TRYING THAT)---you'll have to either try one of the other nursing schools in SA or wait til the fall :)

UTHSCSA still starts both in August & in January.
