This thread will likely be moved to a more appropriate forum as this has nothing to do with being a school nurse.
Did you disclose this to your school?
But yes, if your school and/or clinical site find out about pending criminal charges you can be prevented from working at a clinical site. You need to discuss this with your attorney and your school administration.
Sorry about posting this is first time i am using this....Thanks Gold 1. for information. No i have not talked yet but i will be willing to.

your best bet is to talk to your DON of your program as each school will be different. The policies for your program are created to first follow your state BON regulations and requirements, and then secondly the clinical sights. You actually should have spoken to your DON when this first happened so they could advise and possibly prevent you from wasting your time and money.
At my school, you could be dismissed from the entire program and not aloud retake or even readmission later if the DON found out you were involved in a pending case.
If the clinical site does a background check before attending, them seeing your pending case will depend on how thorough of a background check they do. You may get lucky and they just go off your original background check for school admittance. But that doesnt guarantee that it wont be caught on a background check in your 3rd or 4th block. And if this case does not go well and you are charged with even a misdemeanor, you will unlikely be eligible for licensing. And if your are eligible it will likely be with stipulations on your license. But that would all be up to your state BON.
Basically, this doesnt look good for you. You may not get caught, but the longer you go without telling your DON, the worse it will look if you do get caught. Your DON may not remove you from the program if you are upfront. He/She may just want updates as your case progresses. But if you dont say anything, then they may not extend that privilege. No one here will be able to tell you if your clinical site will find the case and dismiss you or not.
