Need help please

Hi all,

i am an international student, I took nclex on Dec-20, yesterday I got my results and I failed:cry:.

i answered 118 questions most of them were SATA and prioritization, everybody said if you get these type of questions you are in the right direction, sadly I wasnt:banghead:.

i got Kaplan and did the there exam before I start studying and I got 60%. After reading Kaplan I did Saunders, week half of it, and watched all the videos on simplenursing.com and I did lots of questions with the rational.

Now I decided to retake the exam, but I have no idea what to do! So please help me.

Welcome to allnurses!

Welcome to AN; sorry about the failure with any luck we can help :)

First, forget about listening to what anyone tells you about the "type" of question you get meaning something important. It doesn't. SATA questions can be above the passing standard, or below it; questions in every category and of every type can be above passing or below. What one person thinks of as "hard questions" can be "easy questions" to someone else.

At this point, you'll need to wait for your CPR (Candidate Performance Report) to see what it says about how you did in each area of testing. This report will help indicate where you need to focus most, where you did ok, and help direct your study plan for the next attempt. You'll receive this report by mail.

Thank you RNsRWe for the explanation, I did receive my report by mail, and I know what to focus on this time. Do you suggest any resources that could be helpful specially in pharmacology?!!!!

Honestly, when I took my NCLEX, it was really different from the first time round. This time, all meds were generic names. These are the common drugs you see nowadays. So, just utilize any books that breaks it down for you into their categories. I think it was hard for me to just memorize the drug names. So I put them into the system, how they are used.

For example, What drugs you would use for someone with MG, and how they work for people with MG, side effects, etc. It was easier for me than memorizing the meds itself. I am a visual learner, words don't mean anything to me until I see a picture. lol. so I utilized youtube a lot when learning disease process.

You're right kogepan, I've read that each medication is gonna be in generic and trade name, so I memorized the easier for me ;) but I only got the generic name at the exam. Anyway I am gonna try you're way hopefully it'll work for me, thanks
