i need help in my cellular biology class

considere a somatic cell taken from a sexually reproducing organism. if you were to look insiode the nucles of the cell, you'd expect to find---------------- copies of each chromosome. explain why sexually reproducing organisms have the number chromosome copies you indicated in part a.

What is this I don't even..

Well, in simplest terms, each cell has 2 copies of each chromosome. Sexually reproducing organisms have 2 copies because one comes from the male and one comes from the female. That's what I remember, but it's been a while.

Good day:

If you are referring to human beings (I've only had human biology; I'm now taking A&P 1 which just deals with humans), somatic cells would have 23 homologous pairs of chromosomes for a total of 46. 23 chromosomes from the mother, 23 chromosomes from the father.

I recommend digging into the following:

* Mitosis vs. Meiosis.

* Somatic vs. Gamete

* Diploid vs. Haploid

Thank you.
