Need Help with Assessment!

Published

Hi all...I recently took the NCLEX and had a lot of who to assess first, who to call back first. I fell as if I struggled on these terribly and battled between two patients usually. This is the strategy I used

1. ABC's

2. F:find hypoxia

I: immunocompromised

R: real bleed

S: safety

T: try infection

This was an anogram that I learned from one of my firends that took the Sylvia Rayfield course yet I still seemed to struggle. I anyone has a great way to navigate through those questions or can shead some light on my problem...HELP. Thanks in advance.

I chose a very simple approach for these types of questions:

1 - Safety

2 - ABCs

Which pt was or about to be in the most trouble? Prevent injury/illness or manage an emergent issue. That seemed to be what the NCLEX was looking for with these questions.

Kaplan was very good for practicing these types of questions.

Thanks for the advice. I felt before the test that I was prepared to answer those type of questions, but soon realized I was mistaken. Hopefully I can figure them out for the next round!! thanks again.
