HI,
I have been a RN for 13 years, in Ob-Gyn, ambulatory setting for almost all of these 13 years. I do like it and work 2 shifts a week-I will keep this position.
My friend introduced me to home health care, as I am looking to make some extra cash, flexibility for my family life. I have started a 'orientation' going over loads of paperwork and I shadowed for a day on routine nurse visits. I did like the experience of shadowing-I feel it is something I would enjoy, ultimately. I am Overwhelmed with the amount of paperwork and I questioning if I have the right skills for this area of nursing. Its so different, but I don't want to completely talk myself out of a potentially great nursing career move.

[color=#483d8b]the paperwork is overwhelming at times. but don't let that scare you away. this is a totally different type of nursing than bedside and i enjoy a lot of aspects of it.
[color=#483d8b]you don't break your back that's for sure!!! with 13 years exp., you will do fine. it took me about 6-8 months to really feel like a hh nurse.
[color=#483d8b]now, i always say that i'm highly doubtful i'll ever go back to bedside ever again.
[color=#483d8b]good luck!!!
