Need advise

Hi,

I need advise . I'm a senior in the BSN program ( 2 semesters left ).I had to take leave of absence for 1 semester from the program due to lack of child care . Now I plan on going back in January. I haven't been taken any nursing classes since May 2017, and I forgot everything. Has anyone been in similar situations as me ? Did you struggle in your classes because you took a break ? Is it possible for me to still do well in my classes? Any advise is greatly appreciated!

thank you so much !

Don't sabotage yourself with negative thinking. Go in prepared to work a tad harder and pay close attention to everything that is happening. If you want to help yourself, review your previous semesters' notes and write down the concepts that seem that you need to review, then do so.

I did something similar. Go over notes, YouTube, read articles. I did not struggle, but I did have to review and honestly, for me, most of the stuff came back. Don't sweat it too much. You can do this.

Thank you!

How was the clinical part for you ? Did you have to review all of the skills as well ?

Getting back to clinical was no problem for me. You could make a list of skills you checked off on last semester and then YouTube the skill as a refresher though. At skills lab you might be able to ask one of the instructors to help you review skills you feel less confident with as well. Just think being proactive in finding ways to get back into it. For me the hardest part was focusing on being a student. You'll be suprized how much you recall though and you'll do fine. It is doable.
