Hi all,
I have finally got a job as a registered nurse!! However, I dont start until November 27. I have been working at Target for several years. I have decided to leave target in the beginning of November. However, I still need money to pay for student loans and all that fun stuff. But I also believe that I need some down time before I start my career.
Not sure I am making the best decision

Hey!!
So, if you were to have completely off between now and November 27th, would that be enough down time for you? Or do you mean that November 27th is too soon?
If you want down time between Target and the nursing job but can't afford to completely stop working during that time, perhaps you can decrease your Target hours? Like if you work 40h/week maybe decrease to 20 or 15 (if that is possible) so that you're still making the money you need but you'll have plenty of free/downtime.
Otherwise...I am out of ideas!! Good luck to you and I hope you get some great advice here!

That's not much of a dilemma. If you need the income, work. If you can afford to take time off, take time off.

I would set a budget for the month of November and December (you probably won't get your first check until the second week of December). Then, once you know how much money you will definitely need for that time frame, you can figure out the soonest you can leave your current job. Also, take into consideration if you have any paid time off that Target will be paying you when you leave. If you need the income, you will need to work. It's great to have a break between jobs if you can get one, but it's not always possible.
