I have been away from acute care since 92 and am getting calls from several hospitals trying to recruit me with benies and such. I am torn. I am in a management role, home health, and cannot seem to work less than 65 hours per week due to wearing many hats. I am salaried of course. A job where I make overtime sounds mighty inviting. I am in the same boat.

well, you don't mention what areas interest you nor whether you have maintained your license but....

my suggestion would be to check out a current issue of nurseweek, follow up the jobs (if any) that interest you, and see what these prospective employers have to say.

your could also look through the long list of nursing specialties on this bb and check out those that interest you.

and/or stop by any hospitals/agencies in your area and have a chat with the nurse recruiter to see what the market is like in your part of california.

that is the kind of thing you'll wind up doing anyway, so you might as well just dive in.
