I am finishing my pre-reqs and plan on applying to some nursing program as soon as possible. I'm wondering which option is the best way to go to get in as soon as possible. I have thought about either getting an LPN and then going on for a BSN, applying at a community college (chicago one's) and getting ASN, or trying to get into Lewis for the accelerated BSN (since I have my bahelors). I am afraid that I will not get into any of them or that the wait lists will be years. Any advice on which path is the best way to go and what schools may have the shortest wait lists?
Thanks!!

It depends on your situation. Most schools have waiting list. Since you already have a bachelors degree an accelerated BSN is a good option but could be expensive. Community colleges are less expensive. The LPN option is not bad but since you already have a bachelors degree I would go for either the ADN or BSN. Apply to as many programs as you can. I wish you well.
Also, I think Lewis may have the ROTC program. If you qualify the military will pay for education and you probably will get into the nursing program easier because of it. If you don't meet the requirements for ROTC you can also look into local hospitals in your area and talk to someone from human resources. See if they would be willing to fund your nursing career in agreement with you working for them.

I got into Lewis' program easily, but would have had to take some more prereqs before starting. I'm turning them down to do the Master's Entry to Nursing Program at DePaul - I'll be starting in January, and the deadline to apply for the Winter Cohort was Aug 1st. I'm not sure when the deadline for the next Fall Cohort is.
Basically, if you have good grades and test well, getting in shouldn't be a problem (or, at least, it wasn't for me).
