Do you know anybody who is a nurse??? Could you shadow somebody for a couple days??? Also, you might want to meet with an enrollment counselor from a nursing school, or nursing program director to figure out what classes you will need to take to get in etc...:D

You can always try taking a CNA class... it's not an intensive class, and you'll get some actual hands-on exposure to working with patients (and it's stuff you'll learn in nursing school anyways)... and you can see firsthand the role of nurses in the care of the patients (because you'll be working for a charge nurse during clinicals, too)

Another good idea is volunteering at a local hospital or local health center. Plus you would get community service as well as some experience. hope this helps... good luck!!
