Hi
Could you please help me out am getting so worked out. What are the normal marks that you should get when doing this test. I have been doing it for two weeks and am getting between 52 - 56% is this good or bad. I used saunders and i get 78 - 94% getting confused. Thought i would try the test setters but am getting discouraged because of the marks i am getting.
By the way for the pre test of NCSBN i got 52% is that good cause i have ready somewhere that noone gets 50% correct on nclex.

Hi,
We were required to use NCSBN for school and I did not enjoy it at all. I only used the program the required amount of time from our school, which was 4 hours. I got 45%, 50%, 60%, 65% and 70% on the various tests. Only one other person in my class to about 50% and she got 60's and 70%. I'm not sure about the normal marks, I really despise this program. I have been using Q-Bank since I ended the NCSBN trial and I'm much happier with it.
Good luck studying, I wish I could be of more help! I'm sure someone here will be able to answer the normals. :)

Actually, you were misinformed - to pass the NCLEX, you have to have 50% of the questions you've answered correct. So actually everyone who passes the NCLEX got AT LEAST 50% of the answers right.
The computer keeps giving you questions until you either get fifty percent of the questions right at the higher levels of difficulty, covering all the specific areas that the NCLEX tests you on, or until it "knows" or "figures out" you're not able to do it, and it shuts off. There are more details to this criteria, but if you look around in this discussion topic, you'll easily find all that - I don't want to repeat too much here. But basically that's what happens.
You can reach that level in a minimum of 75 questions (and pass or fail) to a maximum of 265 questions (and pass or fail). But you can get any number of questions from 75 to 265 and pass or fail.
All of this is why everyone hates the NCLEX, because most of us walked out wondering whether we passed the thing or not (and most people walk out convinced they'd failed).
I know I didn't know the answer to your question, but I thought having correct information on at least one of your points would probably help you in the long run. Someone on here will certainly be able to help you.
At any rate, the more you practice, the better you will get...so keep working.
