NCLEX in 3 weeks?

Published

I have just graduated school and still have the Kaplan Live review ahead of me. I got a 66 on Kaplan's predictor and plan to keep studying and doing questions, about an hour a day. I also have 2 apps on my phone that I do questions on daily.

Does anyone have advice as to how soon is too soon to take the nclex? We were advised to take it pretty much as soon as we could, but has this backfired on anyone? And does it seem feasible to study for 3 weeks (maybe a few hours a day tops) and then take NCLEX? I seemed to do well on the predictor with a 66 but I don't want to be overconfident going in.

After graduating it took almost 2 months for me to get my number to sign up for the NCLEX-RN. During this time I planned to study, but I felt burnt out and didn't study. The day after I got my number I took the test and passed. Nursing school should have prepared you to take the NCLEX, you shouldn't have to cram for it. Good luck!

I just took the NCLEX-RN 2 weeks ago and passed with around 82 questions. I took my exam about 2 months after I graduated, I ended up pushing my date back. Kaplan live review is great, my school did the kaplan prep as well. For the first month, I goofed off and didnt really study much and did mabye 50 questions a day or so and then I took my kaplan predictor and got a 55, they want you to get at least a 65-70, so with that score, I pushed my test date 2 weeks ahead, I then looked at my weak areas based on the predictor and did about 250 kaplan qbanks everyday on my weak areas and did 75 questions in all categories, make sure to remediate your questions right after you do the qbanks and look at the rationals. I also each day watched the kaplan content review videos for about 2 hours a day until i got through the whole thing. Finally about 4 days before my exam I purchased a Lippincott alternative format book and went through that, that was the most helpful tool i had, the rationals they give you are very well explained and put in simple terms, i honestly dont think I could have passed without that book, its all alternative format questions, which you see alot more on the nclex, I had 34 select all that apply questions!, the day before my exam I just went through the basics, lab values, ekg strips, etc.
