NCLEX scoring

can someone tell me how the nclex is actually scored? i know about how cat works, but when we get our results in the weeks after testing, how are they presented? is it a percentage correct or is it like the sats?

i just got my results in the mail (after being licensed). all it had was that i "had passed" the exam. there was nothing else.

ok, so it doesn't tell you how you actually did beyond pass/fail. i think some of those questions will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Every nurse gets 50% correct and 50% incorrect. The level at where you are passing determines whether of not you pass the exam. You will never receive an actual numerical score. That is not how NCLEX is set up.

I passed at 75 questions. When I reflect on the test, the questions seemed to double in difficulty at about #46, and then continued to double in difficulty every 5-6 questions there after. It seems odd to me that NCLEX would be set so that the test taker would be making incorrect choices 50%. When you think about it in terms of patient care, it's frightening.

I wonder how that is possible when it is theoretically possible that someone could get more than 50% correct before reaching 75 questions. Will it keep feeding more questions (greater than 75) just so someone can get 50% wrong?
