NCLEX RN KAPLAN

Kaplan questions are tough, so your scores are pretty good. Excellent scores are said to be those in the high 60s and low 70s.

just keep doing the questions.. I realized that when i do not change my answers, i tend to do better and that was the mistake i made on NCLEX.. with the kaplan questions, Qtrainers exam 1 and 2, I scored 73%, qtrainer 3-60%, q4-55.. but i went back and compare my weakest areas and work on nclex 3500 and saunders on my weakest area before i do the q trainers 5,6,7..

Kaplan says to score at least 65% on QT 1-5 and at least 60% on QT 6 and 7, as well as all QBank timed (not tutored) tests. I did Kaplan in September 2012 but failed the test the next month. Only because I listened to everyone saying "Kaplan questions are harder than the NCLEX." It's true, but I took it too literally, didn't make the effort to study, wanted to hang with friends, and failed on my first attempt. I started back with Kaplan around February and I've gotten A LOT better. QT6 for me was 58% and QT7 was 61%. My QBank average is currently around 60.

The thing about getting 65% on QT 1-5 and 60% on QT 6 and QT 7, as well as all QBank timed (not tutored) tests is that it means you are above the passing standard. Remember the NCLEX has 3 scenarios to pass: #1 the 95% compentcy rule. answering and passing the minimum number of questions, 75, with 95% competency. this means you were ABOVE the passing standard. The computer is 95% certain you will keep this patient alive. #2 the last 60 rule. if you run out of time, the last 60 questions will make or break you. All 60 have to be above the passing standard to pass. #3 maximum level of questions (the dreaded 265Q test.. to me SATA questions are heaven compared to sitting for 265 questions, but that's just me lol). when you get 265Q, the question no. 265 will make or break you. to pass, no. 265 has to be above the passing standard. (on the NCSBN candidate bulletin). - if you didn't know this already.

Now back to Kaplan about 65% on QT 1-5 and 60% on QT 6 and QT 7, as well as all QBank timed (not tutored) tests. QT6 and 7, and all your QBank questions are PASSING LEVEL questions. get at least 60% and 65% on them, you have good chances of passing the NCLEX. 60% and 65% also gives you room for error. meaning you can get a some questions wrong and still be above the passing standard. high 50s are good, but 60+ is better. Kaplan also says that scores closer to 50 can still have you above the passing standard, but won't as much room for error as 60% or 65% would give you.

Just keep doing questions, review the rationales ACTIVELY, and understand the thinking of choosing the right answer. Speaking of, i need to grade my practice tests. LOL happy studying! peace!!

Hello Im taking nclex rn this march 2013 and i started the kaplan review january. I am just wondering what you guys think about my qtrainers results and qbank results. My qtrainer results are from 50, 55, 60-65 (range) and then my qbanks are 50-60%. What do u think about this?
