Hi all!!
I'm a recent graduate, getting ready to start preparing for the Boards. I'm excited and nervous. I'm wondering how the Exam is. I've heard it's more alternate format questions now. I would love to hear feedback, tips, and study aids. Thanks in advance for your help.

Did your nursing school have you do any prep courses? ATI and Kaplan both are similar formats. Kaplan is great for test taking strategy and they are great to understand how the questions are formatted. They aren't great for content review so if you need that, try the Saunders book or Hurst. I would not suggest taking the test without one of the prep courses.
My school has Kaplan, I actually have my score predictor exam with them on Monday, and I have their content review guide. But now, I think I will invest in getting Saunders and hope this is all enough to pass. They recommend doing 90% of the question bank.

Why not 100% of Q-Bank? Why waste 10% of the opportunity you have to prepare? Also you should keep in mind that while Kaplan offers the guarantee that you can re-take their course for free should you fail the NCLEX, it is only offered IF you have completed ALL their study materials. Don't finish it, and your guarantee is garbage.
Of course, passing on the first try is always the best way :)
And my own bit of Continuing Education where the national license exam is concerned: there are no Boards, and haven't been for MANY years. There are no State Boards. There is only one NCLEX!
I know I thought the same, but that's what they "recommend". I'm just hoping I pass the first time!
I know I'm late on updating this but I did pass my first time around !
