NCLEX-RN (CA) concern.

Published

I already passed my NCLEX-RN (California) last October 2008 and this Sept., 2011 my license would be destroyed already. What does it mean? Do I have to retake the exam again? However, I learned that there is a reciprocity law and I'm already on my process for my reciprocity to Vermont but I haven't pass my IELTS yet (which is a requirement). What if I wasn't able to meet the requirement for Vermont until Sept., 2011. Would my file in California still be destroyed? Thank you. ;-/

from what i read on this forum.. YES, destroyed after 3 years of not fulfilling all requirements

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

best bet is contact the BRN and ask them what happens and get it in writing

so, does it mean that I have to retake the exam again or I just need to re-process my my papers again? thanks.

you only need to re-process your papers. no need to re-take the nclex-RN exam according to ms. ********* of CA-BRN =)

"an applicant, who has passed the nclex-rn exam and is affected by file abandonment and file destruction, still has the following options:

once the valid u.s. social security number is obtained, the applicant may submit a new application for licensure (and required supporting documents: a new application for licensure by examination; transcript from school; the fingerprint clearance and a valid u.s. ssn) to the brn. currently, the applicant will not have to retest, because even though the original file is abandoned and destroyed, the nclex-rn test result is still valid.""

I just took my IELTS last Aug. and I don't have any problem in my written exams L:9 R: 6.5 W: 6 but my speaking is 6.5. I'm planning to go for the rechecking process... should I take the risk? Secondly, I already have my NCSBN report that I passed my NCLEX-RN, does it guarantee that my files won't be destroyed anymore in CA even I don't provide them a SSN? Coz, it will expire next month already(October 2011). thank you for your help. Godbless
