Did anybody skip the live review or the reviews that cost $300. If so, how did you do on the nclex.

If you read the many threads on this forum, you will find that people do EVERY possible kind of review course, prep course imaginable. People pass with all of them....and fail with all of them. Depends on the person, the quality of that person's nursing education, how well they prepared for NCLEX. People declare Program 'A' to be the very best prep, they passed easily.......and someone else will declare Program 'A' to be a waste of money, didn't help them at all.
So, therefore, the answer is "it depends" :)
If you are doing a program such as Kaplan that requires you to complete all parts of the program before taking the NCLEX (and you do not do it) you are not eligible for their money-back/free re-take guarantee.
There are MANY free resources online, many cheap options and certainly many people do just fine without an expensive review course. Others believe it's worth its weight in gold.
What do you think? Is this your first attempt at NCLEX, or are you repeating?

Hey, it really just depends on the type of learner you are. I did the hurst review and i ran out of time when i took it the first time. So to me i was not lacking in content i was lacking in more of testing stratgies. Also i depends on how you learn best, i took the live course with other classmates because everyone felt as if you were in class room they learned best. I actually find i am personally a better learner at my own pase and can work with it hands on. Do you honestly need to buy a Review course i dont think so. I think you are better off with a NCLEX review book and paying for someone of the test banks like Kaplan or Uworld.
This will be my first attempt. We have prepu and ati. And I was planning on buying Saunder's nclex. And just reviewing my my book..
Thanks.... I ordered the Saunder's book. I also have PrepU and ATI that I can use along with the tools I have from class.. Im praying its enough. I'm a student and I don't have $300 to give for a review.

The first time I used Hurst live review and did not pass. Second time I used Kaplan q bank did not pass third time I took the live Kaplan review. It helped me because in a class u get live questions and live advice from a instructor that points out different important things and believe it or not you see those things again. But like the others said you just never know what will actually help you pass the nclex because everyone learns different
