Hi all-New poster here. I have a few questions. First I am curious about the need to take an NCLEX review class. I have done very well in nursing school and just wondering if taking an extra review class is worthwhile. We do ERI tests and must score at or above the national average. The national average is around 59 and I usually make 10-25 points above that. We also have to do around 3000 practice NCLEX review questions from our Saunders/Mosby's discs. I usually make in the 70's-80's. ERI will do a 40 hour review course the first week of May at our school. Several of my friends are wanting to take a review class in addition to what we already do. Has anyone heard of the Sylvia Rayfield review class?? If so, what have you heard? Any recommendations? I am not tooting my own horn about doing well, just saying that to let anyone who may respond that I havent struggled through school--I have 2 very small kids, married and work full time so I know what HARD work is-I just dont want to take something that might not be worth it at all. Any help would be appreciated.

I took a Review class for my LVN boards, but really to boost my confidence. I felt it was worth the money, because if for some reason I didn't pass the NCLEX, I'd be mad at myself for not taking the class. I am currently contemplating taking a Review class for my RN boards. At the school I go to, we have to take an exit exam which basically predicts your probability of passing the NCLEX. I take it in 2 weeks, so I guess I'm going to wait to see how I do on that test and then decide. We also get a review session for a whole week with our instructors before we take the exit exam. As far as what I learned in the review class I took before, it was mostly test taking strategies and reviewing major areas for the test. It was definitely worth the money, but it was only about $100. The RN review classes are much more, but may be worth it.
