So I've been working as an LPN in PA for a little over a year now. I graduated in Sep 2016, this may sound crazy but I never took my NCLEX. I've been working from TPP. Now I have to take my NCLEX because my TPP is expired. But it's been over a year since I graduated(obviously) does anyone have any experience with this and the rules and regulations on what the process is. Do they make you go back to school? Is it just refresher courses? Etc.
thanks!

Directly from the PA BON:
Is there a deadline for taking the NCLEX® for the first time?
Yes. Candidates must take the NCLEX® for the first time within one year of completing their nursing education programs. To take
the NCLEX after this deadline, express permission must be granted from the Board based upon the candidates' demonstration that
they were prevented from taking the examination by emergency, illness, military service, licensure in another state, or other good
cause shown.

This sounds as if you would be required to repeat your education to be able to test unless you can show just cause for the delay. As Rose_Queen suggests you need to speak directly to the BON to resolve this issue. When you speak to them also ask if you were take the NCLEX in a state that would allow you to become licensed more than a year following your graduation if you would then endorse that license into PA.
