NCLEX and other questions!

I was wondering how hard/easy it was taking it. I am a18 and I am starting as a freshmen in college for nursing and my mom was a nurse so I know more than the average teenager. I would hang out at her work all the time and watch what she did and all that. She gave me the NCLEX-PN Saunders Comprehensive Review and I have been studying it the past 2 weeks.. I went through the first 7 chapters and answered all the practice questions right without looking at the answers or looking back into the reading. I read the chapter until I know it and answer the questions. I want to know stuff before my nursing course/clinicals start so it's not so hard for me to take in all at once... If I study this book enough will I be ok on the NCLEX-PN board test?

Also, I was wondering how hard it is to find a job after school. I have to move to des moines iowa in 2 years with my boyfriend, for his police academy, where I'm gonna finish hopfully with my BA but we are hoping for jobs to come easy!

AND, I am thinking about taking the EMT course next summer and start working as an EMT for experience and a job! Would it be too much with my nursing courses. I will only be doing around 9 credits a semester with just my nursing I and nursing II the next semester... Or is the EMT just a waste of my time?

Slow down. You have to get through the process, albeit slow.

Wait until you get through the first semester and each subsequent semester after that.

Most people don't know how hard RN school is until they go through it.

Yeah, I too think you have to hold your horses. You have no idea what you are getting yourself into. Nursing school has some to do with reading books and learning info. But much more to do with critical thinking. You'd be suprised how many 4.0 gpa people saw it gradually sink to a 3.1 just as they culminated nursing school. It's about knowing HOW to think, not memorize. Take a breather, get into the nursing program and then you'll know what you can do. Till then, good luck in your endeavors.

Well, i am reading the book to get to know HOW nurses have to make their decisions and to know the processes of doing some things.. i'm not memorizing things with the books, I am teaching myself the processes basically of certain areas. I can't wait for my nursing to start..
