nclex practice percentage?

Hi, sorry if this is already a thread (I looked though)

I was wondering of the people who passed NCLEX, did you do practice exams to prepare? and what was your overall comprehensive percentage? I'm getting in the high 60's and I feel that I need around 75%, does any one agree?

Thanks

Hi..yeah I was getting in the 60-65% when I started to study. I reviewed Kaplan's strategy book. It is a thin book with only 150 questions but very helpful in helping you choose the best answer! Once I felt better I tried the Mosby's comprehensive review NCLEX-PN it has 1244 questions and overall I got a 78%. If I break it down by subject it goes like this: NURSING CONCEPT, PROCESS AND TRENDS 85%, PHARMACOLOGY 72% :(, MED SURGE 78%, NUTRITION 74%, MENTAL 81%, MATERNITY 71%, PEDIATRIC 85%, NURSING CARE OF THE AGING ADULT 74%, EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS 77% .....I took my nclex-pn 08/20/11. I'm getting the "good pop up" hopefully I did pass..I hope this helps.

Is the NCLEX PN easier than the NCLEX RN? I know if I fail the RN one I can take the PN one right away. Are they different? I know RN's assess but do PN's have the ADPIE and all that stuff too?

For what I know, it depends on the book or review... Kaplan Q-trainers you need a 65% or more. Saunders 75% or more, CramMaster 75-80%, NCSBN 75% or more, this is at fist time, no re-doing them...

Remember is only a number, do not feel constrain by them... I seen people saying they passed with 50's% in the Kaplan, but they go with ALL the 265 questions, which is nerve killing... if you are low, go for more questions if you % are low, study content, set a plan.

ATI recommends that you score at least a 60% which is their benchmark. Kaplan says that 65% is where you should be for NCLEX success.

So regarding all responses if I'm getting 68-70% on practice comprehensive exams I would hope I would be fine for nclex
