NCLEX PN 2016

Published

I took my PN Boards Friday. I know that everyone says not to study the day before but my little girl had strep throat the entire week before boards & was in really bad shape due to some oral lesions that came along w/ it. I couldn't do anything & I considered rescheduling my exam. So the day before I crammed labs & did more questions from Uworld. I went to sleep early & woke up early to make breakfast & headed out to Pearson view an hour & a half early. I got there about 45 mins early & decided just to go on up because my nerves and anxiety were out of control. As soon as I went in I was fingerprinted & checked in & I was able to start early. I had to stop on my 35th question to do some deep breathing and to pray because I felt like I didn't know anything. I was focusing so much on my questions that I hadn't realized I was on number 79. I started paying attention after this & my computer shut down at 85. I thought I failed for sure ! I tried the PVT & it was accurate for me, my License was up on LARA the following morning. I used ATI because my school required that we get the "green light" before being allowed to test, Uworld & listened to Mark Klimek audio. I didn't really feel that ATI helped me much, but I did pick up on some content that I was unfamiliar with. Uworlds layout is identical to NCLEX & the qbank really helps you to prepare. Mark K is amazing & helped me w/ tons of test taking strategies and ways to remember labs, disease process and meds.

I really wanna know was it hard like the ati questions? We're doing ati review these last 2 wks before graduation and I'm stressing about the boards

@dreamer0x It was really tough. There were some things that I've never heard of. I think that learning how to answer SATA & critically thinking is most important.

@rondaCMA In my opinion, ATI was more difficult because the tests are focused on one subject. The predictor is more like the NCLEX, but more vague. It's really all about how you're able to answer the questions to prove that you'd be able to practice safely. If you're doing great on ATI, I think you'll be fine. It wasn't my favorite, but a few people in my class passed using it alone.

I took mines Saturday @ 8am. I'm assuming I'll be able to find out my results around 11am.

I graduated the end of July and haven't really been studying like that the past 2 months. Just doing questions here and there, checking quizlet, and looking over random things that I felt like I needed to brush up on.

Between working full time and being back in school to finish prereqs, I've been busy. With that said the test wasn't that bad except for the SATA. I hate those questions and I got a lot of correct order questions. I got so many I felt I was doing well so I relaxed at question 60ish. Ended up not cutting off at 85 and I panicked x_x ...realized that it judges at 85, 125, 165, and obviously 205 so I tightened up and refocused. Turned off at 125 and I did the trick on Pearson vue and it was positive.

Ill officially know later today though :)
