Hello,
I'm starting to study for my nclex pn exam and it's really nerve racking!! I've learned a lot throughout the semester to get to where I am today. Now the ultimate goal is to pass nclex pn exam! I'm nervous, afraid, but determined... I hope that any of you who have taken this exam already or are going to take it, can share and open up on your thoughts and what helped you pass your first time.
I've got Saunders, HESI's nclex guide, and even Exam Cram. I'm starting to review all subjects from Pharm to Fundamentals etc... and will be doing my questions on the cds.. Any suggestions, tips, or advice is greatly (big-heartedly!!) appreciated! I sometimes feel like I don't know where to start.. But I figured, since I've gotten myself this far-- starting to study from anywhere will do it. :icon_roll

Hey!! I am feeling your anxiety and I know how overwhelming it is trying to figure out where to begin studying, but you've gotta start somewhere! I first started out reading Saunders and got to about 500 pgs and quit. I felt like I wasn't really learning anything... I did all the questions in the Saunders book and I have done about 6,000 questions total in my studying. My advice to you is to do as many questions as you possibly can, read the rationales, and write down the rationales of questions you don't understand/ see coming up a lot. I did the 3500 questions on RN pedia.com and I thought they were a helpful review! Have you gotten your ATT yet? If so, when are you planning on taking your exam? I am taking mine in early March! I'm so nervous, but I feel more ready now than I did when I first graduated nursing school. I hope I pass! I have studied so hard! Best of luck to you!!!

I agree with nurse.rachel 100%!!!
I am scheduled to take my Nclex-pn the 1st week in March>>>woo-hoo :-(
I graduated my nursing program over a year ago. I fought with NJBON for at least 9mths of that year. I finally got down to the bottom of it and my school sent another "completion letter" 3weeks ago I received my ATT 1 week later and now I am scheduled. (Just giving a run-down on where I been).
To be honest, I have to say the whole time going through the chaos with the board I kinda buckled down from my studying and started to feel hopeless....Once I got my ATT I started to feel more confident and went right into study mode. At first, I too didnt have a clue where to start since it's been a while out of school. I formulated a plan and made a very serious commitment to studying,(I also prayed each time before I studied).
Here's what I'm studying from:
1. Kaplan: Nclex-pn 2012/2013 Stategies, Practices, & Review
2. Saunders Comprehensive
3. I'm doing close to 200 questions a-day....like nurse.rachel said please, read the RATIONALES!!!! and write down what you don't understand even if you get the question right.
Most of my study guides came from this blog...you might wanna search the blogs for "Study guides" or "Mnemonics"
It's tons of info on here that can help(It has helped me tremendously)...
I wish you(all) luck and blessings :-))
