NCLEX Insights

Published

This is my very first post on this forum. I have been reading it for months, and it has provided my with a lot of comfort and advice throughout my nursing program and taking the NCLEX. I just wanted to return the favor.

I graduated from an ASD program in April. I took my NCLEX on June 1st and passed on the first try with 76 questions.

First of all, I cannot recommend UWorld enough! It was similar to the NCLEX and offered wonderful rationales. Answer as many questions as you can! Saunders and Kaplan books were also very helpful.

Second, I walked out of the test feeling the simultaneous need to vomit and cry, certain that I could not possibly have passed. After reading many comments in this site, the is a very normal feeling. It is a difficult test, but if you can survive nursing school you can absolutely survive this test.

Third, the PVT did work for me. I am normally a very anxious person, so 48 hours was absolute torture for me. I checked 3 times, and got the 'good' pop-up each time. Check the BON website for your state; sometimes it posts before the quick results.

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I just felt the need to share after spending so much time on this site! The people here are amazing, I love the support everyone seems to have for one another. Comments seem to be very supportive and uplifting. I am so glad I found Allnurses. If I can relieve a little bit of anxiety from one person, I will be thrilled! If I can pass the NCLEX, all of you can! Do not let you emotions get the best of you. You know what you're doing, just be calm enough to answer as such:-)

Congrats! I took mine this morning and feel iffy. I just had so many SATA...like more than 50%! Now the 48 hour wait begins....:nailbiting:
