NCLEX Help!!

Published

Hi everyone

I previously posted on here because I am taking the NCLEX very soon. To prepare, I did a hurst review, and I finished all of the UWORLD qbank, my average ended up being a 51%. I have about a week left before the exam and I needed more questions to help me practice just getting into a routine of taking exams, so I purchased the NCSBN review, solely for their qbank. I started taking the questions, and although I do like the format of UWORLD more, I am doing SO much better on the NCSBN review than I thought I would.

I was wondering, anyone who has taken the NCLEX and has used the NCSBN review and UWORLD (and/or), what did you think of the questions in comparison to the qbanks of these two resources?

Thanks for your help!

Hi pi345,

I only did UWorld so i will only give my opinion on this resource. I took the NCLEX on January 15th and passed. I felt that NCLEX did look similar to the uworld screen layout which helped reduce my anxiety a little bit during the exam. Also with the high amount of SATAs on uworld I was not too upset in getting so many of those type of questions during my test either. My big reason for loving uworld, is that I got so used to feeling dumb/confused with the random type questions that uworld throws at us and getting the reassurance when I still answered it correctly, is that during my NCLEX exam when I came around a question that I was so unsure about, I would remember that I can still get it right and pass the test.

The week before my test, I made sure to start studying in untimed mode to get myself comfortable with an actual test format and reviewed all of my lab values. During my 5 weeks of studying I made sure to always read my rationales and to take my time in answering my question. I ended up doing 75 questions in two hours. Remember to take your time and read each question twice. There is no rush. I also closed my eyes and did some deep breathing techniques before answering the next question. I ate two slices of toast the morning of because I was too nauseous for anything else but I did a lot of positive talk with myself and prayed a lot! You got this!
