I just took the NCLEX Friday feb 13, Im from Ohio, The review I took was through Mark Klimek and I have heard nothing but good about him and he was great, I felt that I could pass the NCLEX the day after the review was over. I had 78 questions on the exam, I freaked. I blanked when the test opened. I had every subject on the exam.
I already have anxiety (from testing) and I felt like crap. I studied probably 2.5 weeks for this, I thought I did as much as I could.. various questions a day (equaling 1500 or more)
I do every type of studying known to students.
What are some ways that I should improve to help me pass the next time?
For those who failed what did you do the next time?
I am just so lost on this and don't know what to do.
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Did you get your results already?
I paid the 8$ to get the express "unofficial" results. It said failed.

This happened to me as well last feb 15 but again I stand up and studied Kaplan , saunders cd , lippincott and priority book and pass second time . Don't worry this happens to almost 50 percent people. You arenot alone here . Goodluck for your next time, study hard you will get it :)

Since 75 questions is the minimum amount you can get, the fact that it shut off for you at 78 and you didn't pass likely means you didn't do very well right from the beginning. With that being said, what do you think the problem was? You said that you blanked so maybe it was just test anxiety? What percentage of practice questions were you getting correct? Because if you did 1500 questions and only got 500 correct then clearly there's an issue, for example. I would consider doing even more questions than you did, it certainly wouldn't hurt.
Yes test anxiety has always been an issues since nursing school, but going into an environment 'blind' to take a test wasn't the best for me specifically: I know it sounds dumb but my anxiety is more of an environmental issue... I was getting mid 60s in the questions... I plan on doing more but my thing is... Do I do more content or do I do more questions?? I will most likely take the exam before I get the report on where I went wrong and by that time it'll be too late. 😖

What resources are you using? I'm not familiar with that review so I can't say which is better but I loved hurst. Knowing content without doubt and hesitation during testing was a lifesaver.
Also you say you are scoring 60% on practice tests. What is the recommended score on those questions you are using? All 60's are not equal honestly. A 60% in Saunders or ati is different than a 60% in kaplan in my opinion. It just varies by difficulty of question. Saunders I was told to aim for greater than 75 by my instructors and Kaplan greater than 65 to pass nclex if I wasn't getting those scores I needed to remediate. It worked. Reached those scores and took my nclex two months after graduation and passed in 75 q's
Also not having a study plan and not waiting to see what you should study just doesn't seem like a great idea. It sounds more or less like a shot in the dark.

I recommend the HESI/Saunders online review. You can purchase it through Evolve. I used it and passed on my first try at 75! In addition to that program, I used the NCLEX mastery app and completed all the practice questions. I know it's hard when you have such bad test anxiety, just practice your deep breathing techniques and positive self talk while you study. You can do it, don't give up on yourself :) Good Luck!
