I called pearson vue and scheduled for exam and they gave me 31st

Today,I went for visa to purto rico which is issued at the american embassy asking for just 3days visa to write my exams, meanwhile am a dominican
and purto rico is closest to me,you know what?this people denied me visa for no just cause.i even went as far as telling him to tell imigration in puerto rico to monitor me till after the exam if he thinks i wont be coming back, and he said sorry mam, cant give u a reason for not giving u visa.
please my fellow nurses, what do i do? this whole this is getting to me,my ATT will soon expire, pls i need your advice as to which center i should reschedule the appointment and which embassy will not give me stress.i understood as dominican i dont need visa to london.but i dont have anyone there and i wouldnt want to pay for hotel reservation and they end up not granting me entry. :flamesonb
i call on u all to help me,advise me on what to do,i need to write this nclex and pls have in mind my ATT expiration date.

Did you tell them that the reason you are going to Puerto Rico is to take the NCLEX? If you have told them then I can say they are so mean and have no heart at all.
Good luck!

There are other places like Saipan and Hongkong where visas are not required but they are too far away from your country and the cost would be too high.

I'm sorry to hear about this...This is should be brought to the attention of the consul or any authorized diplomatic attache there in the place where you had the interview.
I hope you have also shown to them your ATT and travel plans/itinerary.
This shouldn't have happened.

Just to clear up anything:
The US Embassy is not required to automatically issue a visa to anyone to take the NCLEX exam, even in a US territory. It is up to them as to who they will give a visa to and they have the final say.
And this goes for Saipan, as well. It is not automatic that you will get it, but it is usually easier thru a travel agent.

If that is the case then what am i expected to do? they should know nclex is not written in every other country apart from very few.in that case nclex is for only the people living in the places the have the centres and this is not fair.after paying money to register and schedule ,am being denied the right to test.
Well am here to seek advise on what to do,pls i dont want to hear about countries that dont automatically issue visa,i dont have buisness with them.
i would want to know if there is a centre in canada for the same exam and the possibilities of getting a visa to write it there.with domonican passport,i dont need a visa to london but i dont have people there,so my fear is being refused entry after making reservation for hotel and after paying so much for a ticket to london.
Pls help,i need ur advice.pls are there other foreingn nurses here that have/had the same problem, pls send me a private message of ur experience and how u got through
God bless you all.am also sorry if i offend some people in any way,i guess am so stressed out.thanks for understanding.
If you do not need a visa to enter the UK, then that can be a possibility for you.
The US has become very strict over who they will grant a tourist visa to, and that is the right of the government. NCLEX is offered in many countries that do not require a visa..........
Look at all of the nurses in Africa..........they do not have anything close by to them, and the closest for them is the UK as well, and they need a visa for there.
Your other option, that you have always had, is to go the route of just doing the CGFNS exam and then go thru Consular Processing, that has always been open to you.......and that is one of the reasons that it was so popular, no visa needed to take it in most cases.
The Philippines does not have a center, and they must all travel to another country. Hong Kong does not require a visa, but the US territories require one as well for them, too. So please do not base it that only nurses in countries that have a center do not have any problems...........
And one other thing to consider, you applied for a tourist visa for the US originally and were turned down, am I not correct? This does happen to many and then they just go the route of Consular Processing and no issues then.
Canada does have several testing centers for the NCLEX-RN exam, go to Pearson-Vue website for an exact list of centers.
