Nclex Aug 11

Published

Hello everyone,

I'm taking my NCLEX on august 11th in NY. I am soooooooooooooo terrified. I took Kaplan..felt it was such a waste. But now everyone around me are saying Kaplan is similar to NCLEX. eventhough i was done with my Q bank's and Trainers-- i'm going back and redoing it. Is that a good idea? I'm watching the content videos and reading the book. I have other CD's like NSNA, MOSBY, HESI, LIPPINCOTT, NCLEX 3500, FEUER. I'm doing questions from each CD here and there but I make sure I do 200 questions a day regardless of which CD i cover. I'm going insane popping the different cd's in and out. I feel like i'm not being consistent. I really feel like making kaplan my bible and just focus on kaplan...what do you guys think? i'm so stressed out i can't even think. So far 8 students took NCLEX from my school and passed it with first 75 questions. please give me some suggestions. Out of the Cd's i mentioned above which ones are good that i can use along with kaplan. thanks.

Good luck

Hi there, first of all i agree that kaplan questions are a lot like nclex. I have taken it once and will retake in aug. I am currently using the hurst review book for content (it's really good with content). However, i am using the kaplan book for practice questions. Although the hurst review people suggest i just stick to one review method. But the kaplan questions are too similar to the nclex i can't just not do them. Like i stated i did not pass boards my first attempt but i know how my first test was and i would strongly suggest kaplan. I did not use kaplan before testing the first time. As for your other books i don't know much about them. I my self am trying to just stick with 1 or 2 review books b/c i learned when you try to study from too many it just gets you all confused. But that's just my opinion, I really feel much better about retaking the exam with just using hurst and kaplan, so my opinion would be to just get the 1 book or maybe 2 that YOU feel most comfortable with and use them, but again kaplan questions really are similar to nclex. Whatever you decide to use just have Faith in yourself (something i did not have the first time, but wish i would have had) and Believe in yourself. You Can Do It. Just be calm and don't worry about getting every question right you just have to get a certain % right. Anyway Good Luck!!!! I retake my test a few days after you and i will tell my self the same as i just told you. WE CAN DO THIS:nuke: Keep us posted on how your doing.

I would definitely stick with one review (to not overwhelm yourself) and I would recommend that you review the rationales even if you get the question correct! You have a good amount of time to study, so make sure the information you're gaining through doing questions sticks.
