NC Hospitals

Happy 4th!!!

Currently, I live in NY and I am looking to move down to NC to the Raleigh area. I have visited Raleigh and fell in love with the city. I was curious if any nurses down in this area can tell me about the hospitals down there. I know there is Duke, Wake Med, Chapel Hill, and UNC. Are they good? Do you like these hospitals?

Also, can someone tell me what department in NC I should contact for my license?

I would appreciate any help! Thank you

I work for Wake Med and really like it there--not only my unit, but the hospital has a friendly work atmosphere (at least in my opinion). Contact ncbon.org for info on your license. I know a reputable realtor if you want more info about the area. PM me if you like...

Thank you so much!!!! I will PM you when I have things in order and I am ready to move. What unit do you work in?

I have worked at Wake Med & Durham Regional. Wake Med is a that is a great place to work in my opinion.

Durham Regional I didn't care to much for in the short travel contract I did there.

It looks like you might be looking for something in Oncology? I would think that UNC & Duke would probably be the largest in oncology.

There are other choices in the area as well that have not been mentioned in addition to Duke, UNC, Wake Med Raleigh.

The others are; Wake Med Cary, Rex, Duke Health Raleigh & Durham Regional. Wake Med North, believe is still a free standing ER & op-surg center.

......

Rex Healthcare in Raleigh is a smaller hospital than UNC and Duke, but it is a great hospital that has Magnet Status and an excellent reputation for treating their nurses well. Visit them at: http://www.rexhealth.com

I too would like to move to the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area. I will be moving from California and I'm wondering if anyone is either in a new grad training programs for RNs or knows of some good ones by word of mouth. Rate of pay would be helpful also.

Thank-you! :)
