Hi, I'm nursing student and I'm making a careplan I just need help in figuring out something. What do you call on a surgery that a rod is being inserted on the shoulder due to fall? I just don't have any idea at all.

If the rod is on the outside of the body, it is called "External fixation." This is what an external fixator looks like...(from a pic i found on google)
