Naked?

Hello,

i am wondering how much you have to see people naked or clean their private areas, i am not interested in seeing other people naked or cleaning them there...

thanks - jason

Yes, you will frequently see people naked. And you will have to wash them, even in their private parts.

Most often, depending on where you're working, it will be a daily event.

Those patients like it even less than you do, but they don't have a choice when they're totally helpless.

cyberkat, i agree that many pts like it far less than we do. (except some really strange ones)

Jbirdangel,by the way after a while you sort of become indefferent, thing is its important to maintain their dignity and privacy in all account.

No offense to the OP or anyone else on the board, but if nudity is a huge problem, perhaps nursing is the wrong choice?

This is the second post I've seen today about this. You most certainly will see nude people, and there will be many, many worse things for you to touch than their private parts. It will definitely pass with time, but I don't really understand the issue with it.

Thanks for the replies.

As everyone has stated, yes nudity is a part of the job, and you will have to clean pts as part of the job. This may be something that you will get use to or may be something that keeps you from entering this field. I wish you the best with whatever you choose.

Sincerely,

Jay
