I just started a new job as a hospice RN. I'm a new nurse, and my preceptors have been so lovely, hepful, and encouraging! I am writing each one of them an individual thank you note this week. Any ideas for some small gifts I can give as well? There are six of them in total so I can't go crazy, but everyone was so great that I want to do a little something extra. What would be meaningful or nice for you to receive as a preceptor?

What I did for mine was a gift bag of odds and ends that we use every day...pen, pencils, scissors, cute hair bands, granola bars, water bottle in a placed in a lunch bag.

It depends on what they like. I think it's great you are so full of gratitude. If they like coffee, you can get them gift cards from their favorite coffee house. If they like candy/snacks, a nice fruit basket of seasonal fruit is nice, also. Or maybe they like candles and you can get them some gifts from the local Yankee store?
Or you can simply give them a thank you card and continue to thank them by being helpful and positive when working with them. Most of us preceptors don't expect anything in return, but a thank you and verbalized appreciation is always great.
