I think taking a CNA course would be a great idea! I recently became a RN. While going to school I worked as a CNA, and then a LPN. I think that the experience that I gained from working as a CNA was beneficial for me. I knew more about what the expect as the role of a RN. I also was more prepared for clinicals than some of the other nursing students in my class who had no prior experience in the health care field. As a RN now, I have a profound respect for CNA's and their hard work, I think part of this is because I have once been there.

Many people become CNA's first and most that I have talked to feel the experience was great for them. It gets you out there in the field and you get to hear, see and feel everything first hand. Plus some facilities may help you pay for school-you can always check!
